The Salvation Army and Bayview Hunters Point Community Legal Keep Homelessness From Happening

Social Workers, Financial Professionals and Attorneys Work Together To Protect, Prepare and Educate

Social workers of The Salvation Army, volunteer investment bankers & financial professionals, and the attorneys of Bayview Hunters Point Community Legal have the depth and breadth of services and supportto address the primary causes of and solutions to getting and keeping families housed.

67 Evictions prevented and families housed since 2013

$241 million for homeless services in San Francisco 2015 - 2016

The leaders of The Salvation Army Bayview have been passionately involved with the homeless community having previously led The Salvation Army's efforts.   But lessons learned from that experience taught us that the issue of homelessness is as much about prevention as it is about getting people off the streets.

By sharing operations with the community's attorney, we are the first to know of and act on an eviction, domestic violence incident, family separation, foreclosure, medical issues or whatever else may be the immediate cause of Displacement.  By bringing together attorneys, financial counselors and social workers at these critical times a network of support is developed and the likelihood of keeping a family in their home or finding new housing is greatly increased.
